MANILA, Philippines — While the low pressure area (LPA) off extreme Northern Luzon has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” is bringing scattered and isolated rain showers, especially in in parts of Luzon.
The LPA was last spotted past 3 a.m. some 835 kilometers east-northeast of Northern Luzon where it stayed with little effect on the weather condition in the country, weather specialist Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
