MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of Agusan del Norte, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
The weather disturbance was estimated some 135 kilometers east of Butuan City, weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
She said it is not likely to intensify into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
“But this LPA would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Norte,” Torres said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said in its 5 p.m. advisory.
