Erwin Tulfo, Tito Sotto Lead Senate Poll

In a big news story, Erwin Tulfo, who works for the ACT-CIS Party-list, has some exciting news! He, along with two other famous people, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and broadcaster Ben Tulfo, is at the top of a special list called a senatorial survey. This survey was done by a team called Oculum Research and Analytics during the last month of 2024, specifically from December 16 to 22.

Here’s how the survey works: it interviewed 1,200 adults all over the Philippines to find out who they would want to vote for in the upcoming elections in May. And guess what? Erwin Tulfo was the most popular choice! A whopping 70.8% of all the people asked said they would vote for him. That’s a huge number!

Following him closely in second place was Tito Sotto, with 52.3% of people saying they would pick him too. Right there with him in a tie for third place is Ben Tulfo, who got 50.1%. This means that lots of people really like these three guys!

As for other well-known figures, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is in the mix as well, getting 49.2%, which places him in a tie for the third to fifth spot. Senator Pia Cayetano follows just behind with 46.9%, putting her in the fourth to seventh spot. It looks like a few famous names from the past are also making a comeback! Former Senator Manny Pacquiao, known for his boxing skills, got 46.3% and is in the fourth to eighth place. Meanwhile, Senator Bong Go is sitting pretty with 44.4%, which places him in the fifth to eighth spot.

There’s also Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, with 43.8%, landing him in a spot tied for sixth to eighth. In ninth to 11th place, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay received 40.3% of the votes. Following her, two more famous names, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Las Piñas City Representative Camille Villar, are tied with 39.2% and 37.5% respectively, putting them in the ninth to 12th spots.

Television host Willie Revillame is sitting at 10th to 12th place with 36.2%. And in 12th to 14th, we find Senator Imee Marcos with 33.3%, and former senator Lito Lapid got 31.1%, landing him in the 13th to 15th place.

The list continues, showing other familiar faces. Former Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan II has 28.1%, putting him in 14th to 16th place. Former interior and local government secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. managed to get 26.3%, landing him in 15th to 17th place. Former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is next with 23.3%, in the 16th to 18th place.

Health advocate Dr. Willie Ong has 22.5% of people on his side, which puts him in 17th to 19th place. Former Senator Bam Aquino gathered 19.6%, ranking him in the 18th to 20th place. Finally, Senator Francis Tolentino rounded out the list with 16.3% of voter preference, making him 20th to 21st.

The survey was done by talking face-to-face with adults all across the country. Researchers are pretty confident in their findings, but they mention there could be a slight mistake of about ±3%. This means they are 95% sure they did it right!

So, as the election in May gets closer, it looks like we’ll be hearing a lot more from these candidates! 🌟
