The legendary K-pop group BIGBANG reunited on stage at the MAMA Awards 2024, thrilling fans after a nine-year break. G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung took over the spotlight, delivering a jaw-dropping performance that had everyone on their feet.
The show kicked off with G-Dragon’s solo hits, Untitled and Power, setting the tone for an electrifying night. Then, Taeyang and Daesung joined him to perform their recent track Home Sweet Home. The excitement skyrocketed when the trio performed a mashup of their iconic anthems, Fantastic Baby and Bang Bang Bang. The crowd went wild, chanting “BIGBANG” and cheering throughout the set.
Even celebrities and other K-pop idols in the audience couldn’t hide their excitement, dancing and singing along with the hits. It wasn’t just about the performance—G-Dragon also received the Music Visionary of the Year award, a fitting tribute to his massive influence in the music world.
The event, held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, was hosted by actors Kim Tae-ri and Park Bo-gum. The night was filled with major wins across the industry. SEVENTEEN took home Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, while Aespa’s Supernova won Song of the Year. BTS members also shone, with Jungkook earning Best Male Artist and Jimin securing the Fans’ Choice Award. IU was crowned Best Female Artist.
For those who might not know, BIGBANG debuted in 2006 with five members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, Seungri, and T.O.P. The group has been dubbed the “Kings of K-pop” for their role in spreading the Korean Wave worldwide. While Seungri retired in 2019 and T.O.P left the group in 2023, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung proved they still own the stage, making this reunion a historic moment for fans everywhere.
