SB19 Grateful as ‘Nyebe’ Becomes Soundtrack for Green Bones

SB19 is feeling extremely thankful for being part of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Green Bones after their hit song “Nyebe” was chosen as the official soundtrack of the film.

In a special interview with Green Bones star Dennis Trillo, which aired on 24 Oras on Monday, SB19 shared how grateful they were for the opportunity. Ken, a member of the group, expressed their excitement and appreciation: “We’re really thankful that you liked our song ‘Nyebe’ and chose it for your movie. Thank you so much, we are really thankful.”

The members of SB19 are also thrilled that their song will reach many people through the film. The song “Nyebe” was written during a time when the group was away from their families, and it holds special meaning for them.

Stell, another member of SB19, shared that while the song was originally written with a different feeling in mind, it still fits perfectly with the movie’s story. He said, “Even though the song ‘Nyebe’ had a different intention with its lyrics, it works well with any kind of story. It really gave me goosebumps when I heard it in the trailer.”

Earlier, Stell and Pablo, another SB19 member, attended the glamorous premiere of Green Bones at SM North Edsa. On their social media, SB19 thanked GMA Network for inviting them to the event, expressing how honored they were that their song was chosen as the film’s official theme song.

Green Bones is an intense movie based on a story by JC Rubio, a senior documentary manager at GMA Public Affairs. The screenplay was written by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza, the MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner. Directed by Direk Zig Dulay and produced by GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures, the movie follows a prisoner (played by Dennis Trillo) who is infamous for the murder of his sister and niece. Although he’s up for parole, a new prison guard (played by Ruru Madrid) is determined to keep him behind bars.

Green Bones will be in cinemas nationwide starting December 25, and tickets are already available for purchase.
