Quiboloy Confirms Senate Run After KOJC ‘Siege’ — Lawyer Says

Apollo Quiboloy, a well-known televangelist, has decided to run for a public office as a protest after a difficult situation involving his church, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC). Quiboloy has been in trouble with the law after facing serious charges like human trafficking and child abuse. His lawyer, Israelito Torreon, explained that Quiboloy made this decision to run for office after what he called a “siege,” referring to the police raids at the KOJC in 2024. The televangelist was arrested after these incidents, and Quiboloy’s supporters clashed with police.

Quiboloy surrendered to the authorities in September after they gave him a deadline to turn himself in. According to his lawyer, after this, Quiboloy realized he could still help the country by creating and improving laws, even though it might have seemed like a last-minute decision.

Torreon also mentioned that Quiboloy’s team is hoping the Supreme Court will allow Quiboloy to run for senator. The lawyer believes that there’s no reason why Quiboloy should be stopped from running because he qualifies to be a senator and has no disqualifications.

Despite the serious charges against him, Quiboloy is considered innocent until proven guilty, and Torreon believes that this should not prevent him from running for public office. Quiboloy is facing charges for human trafficking and child abuse, which are still being processed in the courts.
