Good News: No Filipinos Injured or Killed in Recent Israeli Strikes in Lebanon, Says DMW

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced on Saturday that no Filipinos were injured or killed in the latest Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.

“At the moment, there are no reports of any Filipino casualties in the recent attacks in Lebanon,” DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said during a news forum in Quezon City.

“Thanks to God’s mercy, and we are hoping it stays that way,” he added.

The airstrikes resulted in over 20 deaths and more than 100 injuries, but fortunately, the majority of the 11,000 Filipinos in Lebanon, mostly residing in Beirut, were unharmed.

Currently, 178 Filipinos who were evacuated from conflict zones are staying in three shelters run by the Philippine government.

According to Reuters, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed over 2,100 people in the past year, while Hezbollah’s cross-border fire into Israel has claimed 53 lives, including many civilians.
