In Antipolo City, a tragic event took place when a 55-year-old house caretaker was fatally stabbed by her tenant, a 36-year-old man, after a disagreement over unpaid rent. The situation grew tense because the tenant had not paid his rent for two months, totaling P5,000.
The police said that on the night of the incident, the tenant was very drunk. He had become upset after hearing the caretaker insult him, and he lost his temper. The victim’s relatives reported hearing the argument and insults before the tenant rushed at her and stabbed her in the chest. The caretaker did not survive the attack and passed away before reaching the hospital.
The suspect, who was in police custody, admitted to what happened. He explained that he had tried to be patient with the caretaker but eventually reached his breaking point. “I tried to be patient, but I snapped. I blacked out because I was so drunk,” he said.
Now, the tenant faces charges of murder and is being held by the Antipolo Police. Authorities are continuing the investigation, and GMA Integrated News has tried to reach out to the victim’s family for a statement.
In another incident in Cebu City, a 41-year-old construction worker was arrested after hitting a 38-year-old e-bike driver with a metal stick. The worker was angry because the e-bike driver owed him P600, which had been unpaid for over a month. The two men argued, and the construction worker hit the e-bike driver with a metal stick. However, the worker later apologized, and the victim is recovering in the hospital.
Both incidents highlight how tensions over money can sometimes lead to violent actions.
