Panagbenga 2025 Ready to Bloom: All Systems Go

BAGUIO CITY – The Panagbenga 2025 festival is finally here, and it’s all set to make this year’s celebration bigger and better! Starting on February 1, visitors and locals alike will be treated to an exciting display of garden landscapes at Burnham Park, where 12 talented competitors will show off their beautiful garden masterpieces.

Evangeline Payno, the chief of staff for the festival’s executive committee, shared that after the opening parade on Saturday, the landscape competition will take place. Judges will visit Burnham Park to admire the stunning garden designs and pick the best one. These landscapes will be on display for everyone to enjoy throughout the whole festival.

Payno also mentioned that there will be a section for selling potted plants, so festival-goers can bring a piece of the beauty home with them. To support the competitors, the festival organizers are offering a subsidy of PHP 60,000 to help them create the most amazing, well-planned landscapes possible.

This year’s Panagbenga Festival promises to be one of the best yet, as Baguio’s popular flower festival gets ready to celebrate. The festivities kick off Saturday afternoon with the opening of the “Baguio Blooms” market encounter at Abad Santos Drive in Burnham Park. Visitors can explore various stalls selling food, clothing, and other items, with a special walkway featuring different cloth materials.

One of the highlights of the event will be “Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio” on February 9. During this fun activity, families and friends will get to paint on canvases, which will be proudly displayed along the parade route during the grand street dancing and flower float parades on February 22 and 23.

In addition to the flower festivities, the annual Philippine Military Academy alumni homecoming will take place from February 13 to 15. On February 15, there will also be a Floral Bouquet Design competition and a Dish Garden competition.

A special treat will be the Fluvial Parade on February 27, sponsored by the Department of Tourism. This unique event will feature row boats at Burnham Lake decorated with beautiful flowers, making for an unforgettable sight. Another big event is the Session Road in Bloom, which will run from February 23 to March 2. During this week-long event, micro, small, and medium businesses from Baguio, Benguet, and other regions will showcase their local specialties and best produce, offering visitors a chance to enjoy delicious food, local products, and more while taking a stroll along the famous Session Road.

Panagbenga, which means “blooming” or “blossoming” in Kankanaey, was created in 1995 as a way to bring life back to Baguio after the devastating 1990 earthquake. Since then, it has become one of the most anticipated and well-loved festivals in the Philippines. Get ready to witness the beauty and excitement of Panagbenga 2025!
