In Dubai, nearly 50,000 Filipino accountants are making waves as essential team members in almost every company, from big multinationals to local firms. According to Lyndon Magsino, head of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) in Dubai, businesses prefer hiring Filipinos because of their skill, trustworthiness, and rigorous training back home. These talented professionals are seen as the “hands and brains” behind many successful businesses, playing a key role in the UAE’s growing economy.
Magsino, who has held top advisory roles in the Middle East, explained that Filipino accountants do more than just manage finances; they help with business growth, operations, and strategic planning. Their expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and investment is highly valued by business owners.
The PICPA convention in Dubai highlighted the global impact of Filipino accountants, attended by UAE diplomats who praised their contributions. Magsino noted that passing the Philippine CPA board exam is one of the toughest, which ensures only the best talent reaches international firms. With such a strong foundation, Filipino accountants have become an essential part of the UAE’s thriving financial landscape.
