Families Celebrate Christmas in the Rain at Rizal Park

On Christmas Day, many visitors at Rizal Park in Manila still celebrated, despite the rain pouring down. It was a wet Christmas, but that didn’t stop families from enjoying the holiday.

Girlie and her family, who came from Valenzuela City, had their first Christmas celebration in the park. They set up their party under the gazebo in the Chinese Garden, staying dry while enjoying the special day together.

Jun Francisco brought his family to Rizal Park and gave early Christmas gifts to his godchildren. They planned to enjoy the park’s sights, but had to take shelter from the rain before they could walk around.

Rosalina and her family decided to take a quick walk in the park before heading to a mall. The rain made it hard to explore, so they didn’t stay too long.

Delia Francisco, like many others, found shelter in food tents. She was there to enjoy the Christmas holiday with her loved ones.

Even though it was raining, some visitors still stopped to take pictures with the beautiful Christmas displays and the famous Rizal Monument.

Photographer Nel noticed that fewer people were around this year because of the weather, which meant he had fewer chances to take photos and earn money.

At Rizal Park, the dancing fountain continued its show until 11 p.m., and the clock tower of Manila City Hall lit up with a colorful video map showing a happy, festive Christmas celebration. Despite the rain, the spirit of Christmas filled the air.
