Vina Morales is officially back in the Kapuso Network after more than 20 years! The talented actress and singer shared her mixed emotions as she returned to the network that once played a significant role in her career.
“Actually, hindi ako mapakali. Sobrang, alam mo ‘yung mixed emotions? I had butterflies in my stomach going down the car nu’ng nasa basement na. Sabi ko ninenerbyos ako, ano ba ‘yung feeling na ganito,” Vina revealed in a Chika Minute report on 24 Oras Weekend.
Her last show with GMA was the Sunday noontime musical program SOP. Now, she’s stepping back into the spotlight with a lead role in the upcoming GMA series Cruz vs. Cruz.
A Star-Studded Reunion
Joining Vina in Cruz vs. Cruz is Gladys Reyes, her longtime friend and fellow member of the iconic That’s Entertainment Thursday group. Despite their long-standing friendship, this is their first time working together on a television series.
“Sobra akong na-excite, at the same time din naisip ko, ‘Teka lang. Nagserye na ba siya ever sa GMA?’ Parang hindi pa ‘no? So, very first teleserye niya ‘to sa GMA. I’m so happy na magkasama kami,” shared Gladys.
Other cast members include Neil Ryan Sese, Pancho Magno, Lexi Gonzales, Kristoffer Martin, Elijah Alejo, and Caprice Cayetano.
A Story of Family Conflict
“Cruz vs. Cruz” revolves around two families entangled in a gripping true-to-life story. Vina plays Thelma Ruiz-Cruz, a common-law wife whose life becomes intertwined with Gladys’ character, an OFW nurse.
“Lahat maka-re-relate kasi it’s ‘Cruz vs. Cruz,’ so dalawang pamilya na nangyayari… it’s based on a true-to-life story. I am Thelma Ruiz-Cruz, ako ‘yung common-law wife,” Vina explained.
“Doon pa lang magkakaroon na ng conflict,” added Gladys. “Ako ‘yung OFW nurse na, kumbaga iisang lalaki ang aming minahal.”
Ready for Musical Shows
When asked if she’s ready to join the Kapuso Network’s musical programs again, Vina eagerly responded, “Anytime. Basta ako, ready na ready.”
