A major UK airport in Birmingham had to be evacuated on Wednesday due to a bomb scare. Flights were stopped for several hours after police found a suspicious vehicle.
Passengers were told not to travel to the airport, and those already inside were asked to leave the terminals with their luggage. West Midlands Police said it was a “precautionary measure” while experts checked the suspicious vehicle.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EDO) later confirmed the vehicle was safe, and it was no longer considered a threat.
Birmingham Airport is a busy hub for airlines like easyJet and Ryanair, with many flights to places like Dublin and Dubai. Airport officials said flights would slowly return to normal and advised travelers to check updates with their airlines.
