President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Karoline Leavitt, a 27-year-old from New Hampshire, to be his new White House press secretary. Leavitt, who has been known for her strong support of Trump, will be the youngest person ever to hold this position.
Leavitt has been a spokesperson for Trump’s transition team and previously worked as an assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term. She also ran for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022, gaining valuable experience in public speaking, even though she didn’t win the general election.
Trump praised her for her loyalty and bold style, saying he has “the utmost confidence” in her ability to share his message with the American people. She will be expected to provide important information to the press while maintaining strong loyalty to Trump.
This marks the fifth press secretary during Trump’s time in office, following a history of changes with previous press secretaries. Leavitt now faces the challenge of handling press conferences while managing the tough relationship between the White House and reporters.
