Across the Philippines, thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members joined peace rallies to show their support for a peaceful and united country. These peaceful events were held in different areas in the Philippines, with many people participating in the National Rally for Peace.
In Davao City, around 300,000 to 500,000 people came together for the rally, causing the temporary closure of 10 roads. It was one of the biggest rallies in the country, showing how much the INC cares about peace.
In Cebu City, many people joined the rally and even camped overnight to make sure they wouldn’t miss the event. In Ormoc City in Leyte, about 16,000 people gathered for the peace rally, and similar events took place in Ilagan, Puerto Princesa, Butuan, and Pagadian.
Overall, over one million people across the country joined the INC rallies, with the largest group gathering at Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
The Philippine government expressed hope that these rallies would bring attention to the important issues facing the country.
Vice President Sara Duterte also praised the event, calling it a “powerful” display of unity and faith, showing how much the INC members care about bringing peace and making the country better for everyone.
