Taiwan’s government has said that it has finished investigating the deadly explosion of pagers in Lebanon in September, which were linked to the Iran-backed group Hezbollah. Taiwan officials confirmed that no Taiwanese people or companies were involved in making or selling the dangerous pagers.
Earlier reports suggested that the pagers were connected to a Taiwanese company called Gold Apollo, but the company denied any involvement. Taiwan’s prosecutors said that the pagers were actually made and shipped by a company called Frontier Group Entity, which is not based in Taiwan. Although Gold Apollo allowed the use of its brand name on the pagers, the actual manufacturing was done elsewhere.
Taiwan’s investigators found no evidence that anyone from Taiwan broke any laws or was part of the explosions. They also said that the investigation did not show any criminal actions connected to the incident.
