Super Typhoon Pepito is moving through the Philippines, causing strong winds and heavy rain in many areas. The storm is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday.
Currently, Signal No. 5 is up in some parts of Aurora, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya, where wind speeds are very strong, reaching up to 305 km/h. Other areas are under Signals No. 4, 3, 2, and 1, depending on how strong the winds and rain are in their region.
The typhoon made landfall in Dipaculao, Aurora at 3:20 p.m. and is moving northwest at 25 km/h. As it travels, it will pass through the upland areas of Luzon, like the Sierra Madre mountains, before exiting the region by Sunday night or early Monday morning.
People in affected areas should stay alert and follow safety instructions. Make sure to stay indoors, stay updated with weather reports, and take care!
