Seoul, South Korea, experienced the heaviest snowfall in November ever recorded on Wednesday. The snow, which piled up to 18 cm (7.1 inches) by 3 p.m., caused serious disruptions. It made driving dangerous, causing at least two deaths in traffic accidents. Strong winds knocked debris off buildings, injuring people on the streets.
The snow was so wet and heavy that it damaged power lines, leaving thousands of homes without electricity. Over 200 flights were canceled or delayed, and 70 ferries couldn’t operate. Authorities warned more snow was coming and upgraded their disaster response efforts.
