MANILA, Philippines — The newest addition to Seda’s roster of hotels may be similar to some of its precursors, but its new features catering to families make it quite the standout.

Seda Manila Bay, the 12th Seda hotel in the Philippines, is primely located 15 minutes away from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and right beside an Ayala mall — in fact guests can quickly access the mall through a connecting hallway on the fourth floor.

The hotel is adorned with pieces and designs by several Filipino artists including Ann Pamintuan, Paco Guerrero, Eddie Zobel, and an artwork by Jaime Zobel de Ayala by the front desk area.

Eight kinds of rooms fill up the Parañaque City hotel’s 350 guestrooms and suites, each ideally catered to guests’ needs.

General Manager Jeffrey Enriquez told a few members of the media, including Philstar.com, that the hotel often sees guests booking staycations on weekends, while weekdays regularly see corporate stays.

As such, short-stay guests would be more comfortable in Deluxe Rooms, couples would enjoy Premier Rooms because of the availability of dual vanity sinks and a bathtub, and the Seda Suite is “homelike” because of a separate lounge, dining area, and kitchenette.

Guests who stay in the topmost Club Rooms and Club Suites have exclusive access to the Club Lounge — an area with express check-in and check-out, complimentary buffet breakfast, all-day drinks, and a private meeting room, among others.

Seda Manila Bay, however, is the only hotel in the series that has Family Rooms, which have separate rooms for kids colorfully themed and furnished with a double decker.

Adding to the family-friendly features are the Library and Play Rooom, the Game Room (with tabletop games and gaming consoles), a water playground and pool all on the same floor, and it’s the only Seda with a miniature golf area.

Enriquez also shared the hotel would have finished in 2021 or 2022 if not for pandemic, so as a result, it had to “hibernate” before opening its doors last July.

The general manager proudly claimed that more than half of its empoyees were from Parañaque City, but when asked about Seda’s future plans, Enriquez mentioned that Seda Abreeza in Davao would get an expansion.
