Vice President Sara Duterte expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for organizing a nationwide rally that promotes peace and unity for the betterment of the Philippines.
In a statement shared by her office, Duterte called the event a “powerful” expression of faith and togetherness.
“This event is a powerful display of unity and faith which only desires peace for the improvement of our country,” she said in Filipino.
The National Rally for Peace, organized by the INC, aims to show support for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s position against impeachment moves targeting Vice President Duterte.
A Message of Hope Amid Challenges
Having just returned from a private trip to Japan, Vice President Duterte took time to acknowledge the INC’s efforts. She emphasized their role in fostering hope during difficult times, such as rising prices of basic goods, widespread poverty, and other national challenges.
“Amid the rising price of commodities, poverty, and other problems, a peaceful and united Philippines will never be shaken, and will rise again and again despite the challenges,” she stated.
Massive Participation Across the Nation
The rally has drawn immense participation, with around 1.8 million INC members gathering in peaceful demonstrations across the country, as reported by the Philippine National Police (PNP) by noon on Monday.
Malacañang’s Support
The Office of the President also voiced its optimism about the rally’s positive impact. Malacañang officials expressed hope that such initiatives could help bring clarity to the pressing issues the country is facing today.
This rally, showcasing the INC’s dedication to peace and unity, stands as a beacon of hope for the Philippines amid its ongoing struggles.
