Sanya Lopez opened up about her tough journey to becoming a successful actress, including times when she worked as an extra and even got kicked out of the actors’ tent.
In her interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Sanya recalled her early days in showbiz and the challenges she faced. “It was really hard, Tito Boy. Those who know me know how I started out,” she shared.
She mentioned a time when she played a small part in the series Wish I May in 2016, even taking a rough scene for her role. “I had to be pushed down in a scene,” Sanya laughed, sharing that she was an extra for stars like Bianca Umali and Ashley Ortega.
Bianca, who was also on the show, was surprised, saying, “I’m just hearing this story now!”
Sanya also remembered a moment when she was asked to leave the actors’ tent because they said it was only for main stars. “I was told to leave because I wasn’t an artist. And I just said, ‘Okay,’” she recalled, saying she didn’t take it personally.
Looking back, Sanya is thankful for those hard times. “If those experiences didn’t happen to me, I might not appreciate the blessings I have now,” she said.
Her journey taught her to be kind to everyone, no matter their role. “You have to respect everyone. The world turns, and one day, you might work with them.”
Sanya now stars in Pulang Araw alongside Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco.
