Santa traffic aide spreads Christmas vibes in Pasay

‘Tis the season of giving, shakin’ and groovin’ to the Christmas spirit on streets of Pasay City. Thanks to a traffic enforcer spreading good cheer dressed as Santa Claus.

Enforcer Ramiro Hinojas knows a thing or two about giving gifts to motorists navigating the Holiday traffic grind.

“Ito lang kasi yung pwede nating magawa sa mga tao na mga naghihintay ng matagal para di naman sila mainip,” Hinojas told GMA Integrated News.

(This is what I can do for people who are waiting for a long time so they don’t get bored in traffic.)

Hinojas added that dancing has been a seven-year tradition for him, which also helps him stay physically fit as he performs his work duties.

“Hindi mo na mawawala sa akin ‘yan, kasi kapag di nagpe-perform, nanghihina ako. Lagi silang bumubusina, lagi silang kumakaway, parang tagumpay ko na ‘yun,” he added.

(This won’t go away for me, because I if don’t perform, I feel weak. Motorists always honk their horns and wave at me. When those things happen, it’s a victory for me.)

Some motorists are more than happy that Hinojas puts on a Christmas show on the road.

“Natutuwa kami kapag nakikita namin si tatay rito lagi. Sa hirap ng buhay, okay siya kasi nakakapagpasaya pa siya ng tao,” a motorist said.

(It’s great that we always see him here. Amid these difficult times, he’s able to bring joy to other people.) —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/ VDV – GMA Integrated News
