A graduate of Visayas State University-Baybay topped the December 2023 chemists licensure examination, while two test takers tied for the highest score in the licensure exam for chemical technicians, also given earlier this month.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission, 594 out of 1,148 test takers passed the chemists licensure examination and 2,600 out of 3,138 passed the exam for chemical technicians. Both exams were given by the Board of Chemistry in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.
The highest scorers are Krizzia Mae Dampios Ignacio of VSU Baybay, who achieved a score of 92.60% in the chemists exam; and Aissa Marie Bucayan Flores of the Cebu Institute of Technology and Marjorie Del Campo Ocampo of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, who both scored 92.50% in the chemical technicians exam.
The top performing schools with 50 or more test takers were UP Diliman, with 54 of its 65 test takers passing the chemicists licensure examination; and the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, which both scored a 100% passing rate in the chemical technicians licensure examination.
