The Quiapo Church has unveiled an exciting schedule of activities leading up to the Feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9, 2025. This annual celebration honors the 400-year-old image of Jesus Christ, revered by millions of devotees. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what to expect:

December 31, 2024: Walk of Thanksgiving

  • Time: 12:00 midnight
  • Details: The assembly will begin late on December 30 to welcome the new year with gratitude and prayer.

January 1-6, 2025: Barangay Visitation

  • Where: Basic Ecclesial Communities in the Quiapo District
  • Details: The Black Nazarene will visit various barangays, bringing blessings to local communities.

January 2, 2025: Replica & Standarte Blessing

  • Time: 1:30 p.m.
  • Details: Devotees are invited to bring replicas of the Black Nazarene and standartes (religious banners) for a special blessing.

Activities at Quirino Grandstand

  • January 6, 2025 (Monday):
    • 6:00 p.m.: Mass for Volunteers – A special Eucharistic celebration to honor the dedication of volunteers.
  • January 7-9, 2025:
    • Pahalik: Devotees can touch and venerate the sacred image of the Black Nazarene.
  • January 8, 2025 (Wednesday):
    • 3:00 p.m.: Band Parade – A lively procession of musicians kicks off the day’s activities.
    • 5:00 p.m.: Panalangin sa Takipsilim (Prayer at Dusk) – A solemn prayer service followed by an overnight vigil and program.
  • January 9, 2025 (Thursday):
    • 12:00 midnight: Misa Mayor (Grand Mass) – A major highlight of the feast day.
    • 1:00 a.m.: Continuation of vigil and Panalangin sa Bukang-Liwayway (Prayer at Dawn).

Traslacion 2025 Highlights

The grand procession, known as the Traslacion, marks the culmination of the Feast of the Black Nazarene. Devotees will journey with the image from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church. This spiritual event attracts millions, with an estimated 6.5 million participants in 2024—the first Traslacion after a three-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
