The Philippine National Police (PNP) is preparing for the busy holiday season by deploying over 41,000 police officers across the country. These officers are part of the “Ligtas Paskuhan” deployment plan, which ensures that the Simbang Gabi, or Misa de Gallo, celebrations will be safe for everyone.
Ensuring Safety During Simbang Gabi
The PNP has announced that police officers will be stationed in places where large crowds are expected, especially at churches where Simbang Gabi services will be held. According to PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, these officers will help maintain order and ensure safety throughout the nine-day event, which starts on December 16 and ends on Christmas Eve.
Officers Assigned to Every Area
Each police station in different towns and cities will have officers assigned to look after their local areas. In total, more than 41,000 police personnel will be deployed to keep everyone safe. The officers will be spread out in busy places, ensuring that all areas with a lot of people will have enough security.
Police Assistance Desks for Help
To make sure people can get help easily, the PNP will also set up police assistance desks near churches and transportation hubs. These desks will be a place where anyone can ask for help or find out information. The police will be ready to assist people who might need directions or help in an emergency.
Cooperation with Local Government
The PNP will work closely with local government units to manage traffic and prevent overcrowding. Their goal is to make sure that Simbang Gabi can be enjoyed safely by everyone. By organizing the crowd and controlling traffic, they hope to keep the roads clear and make it easier for people to attend services without any problems.
Making Simbang Gabi Safe for Everyone
Brigadier General Fajardo emphasized that the PNP’s main priority is to ensure the safety of the public during the Simbang Gabi celebrations. The efforts of the police will help make sure the holiday season is joyful and peaceful for all.
