Heavy rains due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) overnight caused flooding in parts of Metro Manila.
At Maysilo Circle in Mandaluyong City, some commuters and motorists were stranded on Sunday night due to the flood, according to a report by Bam Alegre on Unang Balita on Monday.
Rescue volunteers had to use boats to ferry the stranded passengers to higher ground.
Some vehicles and individuals however proceeded to go through the floodwaters.
Others waited until the floodwaters receded.
San Francisco Road just off Maysilo Circle was also flooded, with garbage seen floating around.
By Monday morning, the flood at Maysilo Circle went down to gutter level.
Meanwhile, in Makati City, gutter-level flood slowed down vehicles at the corner of Chino Roces Avenue and P. Ocampo Road.
In Manila, the intersection of Taft Avenue and UN Avenue got flooded immediately when heavy rains poured.
PAGASA said Metro Manila will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Monday due to the Southwest Monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.
