SENTOSA, Singapore — Palawan, a popular vacation spot, has made it to Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Islands list, coming in at number 13. It also ranks fifth in Asia, following the Maldives, Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Bali in Indonesia, and Koh Samui in Thailand.
The top five islands on the World’s Best Islands list include the Maldives, Phu Quoc, Bali, Milos in Greece, and Dominica.
This ranking is based on over 186,000 ratings from Travel + Leisure readers, who evaluated the islands on their natural beauty, beaches, fun activities, food, friendly communities, and value for money.
Palawan is also nominated for next year’s World’s Best Awards, competing with other local favorites like Boracay, Mactan, and Panglao.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco stated, “This award inspires everyone involved in tourism to promote sustainable practices and show off the Philippines’ amazing beauty and hospitality.”
Marga Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board, added that this recognition highlights Palawan’s stunning beauty and the dedication of its people to providing great experiences.
