The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has officially launched its new logo, marking a significant transformation for the agency that serves millions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) worldwide. The grand unveiling event took place on Wednesday, led by OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.
Why Change the Logo? 
Before, OWWA’s logo was inspired by its mother agency, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). But now, OWWA stands side by side with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) as a family, working together to provide better services and protection for OFWs.
“This new logo is a signal of transition and transformation. It was time for a fresh start,” said Cacdac.
The Meaning Behind the Logo 
Every detail of the new logo has a deep meaning that represents OWWA’s commitment to OFWs:
Three Stars – Symbolize the unity between the government, OFWs, and the private sector.
Sun with Eight Rays – Represent OWWA’s eight key functions under Republic Act 10801.
Philippine Flag Colors – Show national pride and dedication to serving Filipinos abroad.
Letter “P” – Stands for the Philippines, reinforcing OWWA’s identity.
Hug Design – Represents OWWA’s unwavering embrace and support for OFWs, showing that no matter where they are, they are never alone.
A Logo with a Heart 
OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio shared that the logo was designed to speak directly to OFWs’ hearts.
“Even without analyzing it, you’ll feel the message – that OWWA and DMW are always here for you.”
A Special Moment for OFWs 
The logo was unveiled in a grand parade, with OFWs as special guests, making the event even more emotional.
“We went through so much just to create this new logo. It’s not just a small change—it’s a symbol of our deeper connection with OFWs,” Ignacio said.
With this new look, OWWA is setting higher standards in serving OFWs, aiming not just for satisfaction, but for a truly delightful experience whenever they engage with OWWA and DMW.
This fresh chapter promises stronger support, better programs, and a brighter future for OFWs everywhere.
