Terminals are expected to be filled with passengers as Filipinos go home to their provinces ahead of the holidays this Holy Week.

One Pinoy, however, had an unusual reason for going home.

April Sarzosa, a passenger encountered by a journalist at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), shared that he decided to go to their hometown in Surigao del Sur for the holidays.

He said it was to attend the wake of his sister, who he claimed has been making her presence known to him.

“Kasi lagi ako [pinaparamdaman]. Pinaparamdam niya na papauwiin [ako]. Sa tuwing natutulog ako,” Sarzosa shared to ANC.

“Bago daw siya ilibing na… uuwi raw ako,” he added. “Uwiin ko muna siya.”

Sarzosa revealed that he had no trouble buying a ticket despite being unable to book in advance.

According to the PITX, it expects a surge of travelers in the transport hub on Holy Wednesday and the morning of Maundy Thursday.

The terminal anticipates over 1.7 million travelers to pass through its gates over the course of the week.

Meanwhile, Filipinos usually go back to their hometown during the Holy Week to observe it with their loved ones.

In the Christian faith, Holy Week refers to the last days of the Lenten Season, which starts on Palm Sunday and continues until the following Easter Sunday.

The week is commemorated with notable importance since it honors the acts of Jesus Christ before His crucifixion and resurrection.
