Mercy Sunot, Aeigis Band Singer, Has Passed Away

Mercy Sunot, one of the iconic vocalists of the popular OPM band Aegis, has passed away due to cancer. The heartbreaking news was shared by the band on their official Facebook page on Monday morning, just days after Mercy asked for prayers for her recovery.

In their statement, Aegis expressed deep sorrow:

“With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Mercy, a beloved voice of Aegis. She bravely fought her battle with cancer but has now found peace.”

The band paid tribute to Mercy’s voice, saying it brought comfort, joy, and strength to many listeners.

“She touched countless lives, inspiring fans and lifting spirits with every song she sang. Her passion, warmth, and unforgettable stage presence will always be cherished,” the band added.

They ended their message with gratitude:

“Mercy, thank you for the music, the love, and the memories. You will be deeply missed.”

Aegis and Mercy’s Legacy

Mercy was one of the vocalists of Aegis, performing alongside her sisters, Juliet and Stephanie. Stephanie marked her grief by changing her profile picture on Facebook and Instagram to a black and white image of a lit candle after the announcement of Mercy’s passing.

Just last weekend, Mercy had reached out to the public, asking for prayers for her healing following a lung surgery. Despite her brave fight, she sadly succumbed to her illness.

Aegis is known for its timeless OPM hits like “Sinta,” “Luha,” “Basang-basa sa Ulan,” and many more, songs that have resonated with fans for decades.

Mercy’s voice and spirit will live on through her music. Rest in peace, Mercy. Thank you for the unforgettable songs and memories.
