MANILA, Philippines — A giant rooster-shaped building in Negros Occidental has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the “largest building in the shape of a chicken.”
This huge structure, owned by businessman-politician Ricardo Cano Tan, is over 114 feet tall, about 92.5 feet long, and nearly 40 feet wide. It’s not just for show—it’s actually a hotel with 15 rooms and a viewing deck, located in the Campuestohan Highland Resort.
The record was confirmed on September 8, just before the building’s grand opening, though the resort itself has been open since 2012.
Tan built the massive rooster as a tribute to the fighting cock breeding industry in Negros Occidental, which is the second-largest industry in the province after sugar.
