President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. thanked Israel for taking good care of Filipinos working and living there. In a phone call with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Marcos expressed his gratitude for Israel’s support, especially during recent tough times.
“Thank you for ensuring the safety of Filipinos in your country,” Marcos said. “Your quick assistance means a lot to us.”
Marcos also spoke about the strong friendship between the Philippines and Israel, saying they’ve been close allies since even before Israel became a state. He shared hope for peace in the region and wants to continue strengthening the bond between the two countries.
There are about 30,000 Filipinos living in Israel. Marcos recently announced that the Philippines stands with Israel amid its ongoing conflict with the group Hamas.
