PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday assured the family of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo that justice will be served following the latter’s brutal killing last weekend.
The Chief Executive personally visited the wake of the slain politician in Dumaguete to personally convey his condolences.
“I just came here para makiramay sa family ni governor. Nagtatanong lang kami ano dapat gawin para matulungan yung mga biktima pati yung mga nasa ospital ngayon (I just came here to sympathize with the family of the governor. We just wanted to ask what else needs to be done to help the victims also those in the hospital now),” he said following his visit.
“Nandiyan ‘yung ibang mga kamag-anak, asawa ng namatay nakausap din natin at sinabi ko lang sa kanila na makakaasa sila na magkakaroon ng hustisya dito sa inyong probinsya na naging masyadong magulo (The relatives are there, we were also able to speak with his widow. I assured them there will be justice in this province that has become so chaotic),” he added.
Degamo was gunned down in his own home last March 4.
