Air Canada, the biggest airline in Canada, just started a brand-new flight that goes directly between Manila, Philippines and Vancouver, Canada. This is really exciting because it’s the fastest and easiest way to travel between the two places!
What happened?
The very first flight left Vancouver at 1:55 AM on April 2 and arrived in Manila the next day at 6:04 AM (Philippine time). When the plane landed, it got a special water salute—that’s when fire trucks spray water over the plane like a big welcome hug!
There was even a cultural show with music and dancing, thanks to the Department of Tourism. And when passengers were heading back to Canada, they got cool free souvenirs like luggage tags to remember the trip.
Why is this important?
-
It helps families stay connected. Over 1 million Filipinos live in Canada! Now, visiting family or going on vacation is easier than ever.
-
It helps businesses grow. People can travel faster for work and trade between the two countries.

It’s great for tourism! More people will get to see how awesome the Philippines and Canada are.
