For those who think they know Bangkok well, it’s time to see the city in a whole new light.
After battling storms and floods back home, we escaped to sunny Bangkok in November. Our journey began with a smooth flight and a stunning view of the city below, setting the stage for a trip full of excitement, culture, and relaxation at the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel.
The Renaissance Hotel isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s where travelers dive into the vibrant heart of Bangkok. This trip also marked the 10th anniversary of Renaissance Hotels’ Global Day of Discovery, an event that invites guests to experience new places in unforgettable ways.
A Warm Welcome to Luxury
As we arrived at the Renaissance, the modern, blue-glass building was a perfect blend of luxury and Thai culture. The hotel’s lobby, filled with beautiful Thai-inspired decor and friendly staff, gave us a taste of the culture we’d soon explore. At the welcome dinner, we were treated to a delicious meal at La Tavola, the hotel’s Italian restaurant. The dinner included mouthwatering dishes like truffle canapés and the famous tiramisu.
Exploring Bangkok’s Hidden Gems
The next morning, we began with a peaceful yoga session by the pool before heading out for a unique tour of Hua Lamphong, a historical area in Bangkok. With our guide O, we rode in an e-tuk tuk (a fun, electric version of a tuk tuk) to visit hidden gems that most tourists miss.
We stopped by the beautiful Hua Lamphong Railway Station, which is over 100 years old, and explored the Thai Railway Museum with its vintage train artifacts. It felt like stepping back in time!
After the tour, we relaxed at Taiban Café, where we enjoyed delicious spicy Thai Wagyu rice bowls in a peaceful garden setting.
A Day of Discovery and Relaxation
Back at the hotel, we had some free time to shop at nearby malls like Gaysorn and CentralWorld, then pampered ourselves with a traditional Thai massage at Quan Spa.
As evening approached, we attended the “Evenings at Renaissance,” a magical night filled with live music, cocktails, and fun. One of the highlights was a mango sticky rice-inspired cocktail, Mango Groove, which made us feel like we were tasting Thailand in a glass!
R Finds: A Global Marketplace of Stories
During the evening, we were introduced to R Finds, a special digital marketplace where guests can buy unique products from local artisans. These items tell the story of Bangkok’s culture, like eco-friendly bags, Thai silk scarves, and handmade gifts.
A Beautiful Goodbye
As we left Bangkok, the sunset painted the sky in stunning shades of orange and purple, reminding us of how much we had discovered. For those looking for a mix of luxury, culture, and adventure, Renaissance Hotels, especially the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong, is the perfect destination.
