A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA was located 1, 235 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Its trough or extension, along with localized thunderstorms, is affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail.
Pagasa, in its 5 a.m. advisory, said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” is affecting Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon.
The weather system is bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Aurora.
