First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos announced that the next phase of the Pasig River development will be revealed in February. She shared the exciting news with the public on her social media after meeting with officials in charge of the project.
In her Instagram post, she shared how the transformation of Fort Santiago, Plaza de Armas, and Maestranza has been amazing, with these historical sites coming back to life. “Seeing the transformation was nothing short of inspiring!” she wrote.
Liza encouraged everyone to mark their calendars for the big reveal, which is set for mid-February. She promised that the next phase will be “breathtaking” and thanked the team behind the project.
The Pasig River Urban Development Project (PRUDP) started last year with Phase 1C, which focused on making the river area more functional. This phase included creating pedestrian-friendly walkways, bike lanes, commercial zones, and green spaces. They also built leasable stalls, a boardwalk, and areas for people to relax.
The goal is to make the Pasig River as beautiful and popular as other famous rivers around the world, like the Seine in Paris and the Thames in London. The new designs will also use renewable energy and promote eco-friendly practices to protect the environment.
