Former President Rodrigo Duterte’s partner, Honeylet Avanceña, and their daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived at The Hague Penitentiary Institute on Wednesday afternoon.
Kitty was seen entering the high-security registration area, though it remains unclear if she was granted permission to visit her father. Both mother and daughter avoided answering media questions but warmly acknowledged greetings from supporters.
Among those who showed support was British national David Hawe and his Filipina wife, Aida Hawe, who briefly spoke to Honeylet. In response, she simply said, “God bless us all.”
What Did Duterte’s Family Say?
During a gathering in The Hague on Sunday, Vice President Sara Duterte shared a family group chat conversation about their father’s strict instruction regarding Kitty’s visit.
She revealed that Duterte told Kitty:
“You cannot visit me until you become a lawyer.”
Surprised by this, Kitty jokingly responded in their group chat:
“Papa is overacting!”
Since Kitty is still studying, she calculated that she has five more years before she can visit him—if she follows his request.
