Kapuso actress Katrina Halili recently appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”, where she shared a little glimpse into her heart and personal life. The topic of love came up, and when asked how she feels about it right now, Katrina had a short but sweet answer.
“I’m inspired. I’m just happy,” she said with a smile, choosing not to reveal more details.
Host Boy Abunda then asked if she was keeping things private on purpose, to which she simply replied, “Yes, Tito Boy. I’m happy.”
Her answer comes a year after the passing of her boyfriend, former Wao, Lanao Del Sur Vice Mayor Jeremy Guiab, who sadly died from a heart attack.
Lessons on Love for Her Daughter, Katie
As a mom, Katrina wants to make sure her daughter Katie, whom she shares with singer Kris Lawrence, grows up knowing the importance of self-love before anything else.
“Love yourself first. That’s the first thing I will teach her,” she said.
She explained why this lesson is so important to her. Katrina admitted that growing up, she sometimes felt unloved, even though her mother showed love through actions rather than words.
“I never really heard my mom say she loved me, but I know she did through her actions. Still, I looked for love elsewhere. And I don’t want my daughter to go through that. I want her to feel loved by me, so she won’t have to search for it in the wrong places or people.”
When it comes to relationships, Katrina wants Katie to always put herself first and never settle for less.
“If you love and respect yourself, you’ll find the right path,” she shared.
Career or Love? Why Not Both?
Boy Abunda also asked Katrina a classic question: If she had to choose between career and love, what would it be?
Instead of picking just one, Katrina confidently answered “both.” She believes in balancing her personal happiness with her professional success.
Co-Parenting with Kris Lawrence
Katrina also talked about her co-parenting setup with Kris Lawrence, Katie’s dad. Even though they are no longer together, they work as a team to take care of their daughter.
She didn’t go into much detail, but it’s clear that their focus is on making sure Katie grows up in a loving and supportive environment.
Katrina’s Current Projects
Aside from her personal life, Katrina is busy with her acting career! She stars in “Mommy Dearest”, a drama series that airs on GMA Afternoon Prime at 3:20 PM on weekdays. She is joined by talented actors like Camille Prats, Shayne Sava, Dion Ignacio, and more.
With her heart feeling “inspired and happy,” and her career thriving, Katrina Halili is showing everyone that life is all about love, growth, and balance.
