BTS Star J-Hope Finishes His Military Service in South Korea

SEOUL – J-Hope, a famous K-pop star from the super popular boy band BTS, has finished his 18-month military service in South Korea. He is the second BTS member to complete this mandatory service, following Jin, who finished in June.

On Thursday, J-Hope, now 30 years old, came out of the military base in Wonju, Gangwon province, wearing a uniform and a black beret. He was greeted by Jin, lots of excited fans (about 100 or more), and reporters. J-Hope smiled and waved, thanking everyone for their support.

“Thanks to the fans, I stayed healthy and finished my service safely,” he said. He also talked about how hard all the soldiers work to protect the country and asked people to show love and support for them.

Since J-Hope’s return, shares in HYBE, the company that manages BTS, went up by 4.7%. The last four BTS members began their service in December 2023, and the group is expected to reunite in 2025 when everyone has completed their military duty.
