Hollywood Stars Donate Clothes to Help Fire Victims

LOS ANGELES — This week, devastating wildfires destroyed parts of Los Angeles, leaving many families with nothing. But out of the ashes, a heartwarming story of generosity and kindness has emerged.

Real estate agent Jenna Cooper, also the owner of a home goods store called +COOP, saw the need for immediate help and turned her store into a pop-up donation center. She asked friends and neighbors for clothing and supplies—and the response was incredible.

Big-Hearted Stars Join the Cause

When Jenna reached out to her network, some of Hollywood’s biggest names stepped up. Sharon Stone and Halle Berry opened their closets and donated items like sweaters, shoes, handbags, and even designer clothes.

Halle Berry shared her support on Instagram:
“I’m packing up my entire closet. If you’re in Southern California, I urge you to do the same. This is something we can do right now.”

Sharon Stone not only donated but also used her social media to spread the word. Her sister, Kelly Stone, even volunteered at the store to help fire victims find clothes that suited their needs.

Turning +COOP Into a Shopping Haven

At +COOP, Jenna and her team created a safe and welcoming space where fire victims could “shop” for free. Volunteers organized racks filled with dresses, jackets, sweaters, and shelves stacked with shoes, denim, and handbags. The selection included everything from fresh basics like underwear and socks to lightly used designer items from Gucci and Ferragamo.

Kelly Stone made the experience personal by asking shoppers about their style and guiding them toward outfits that matched their tastes.
“The first thing they need is a hug,” Kelly said warmly.

Help Pours in From All Corners

The support didn’t stop at celebrities. Jenna’s call for help inspired a wave of generosity from across Los Angeles and beyond. Local business owners, lawyers, moms, and even Jenna’s network of New York real estate agents contributed gift cards, clothing, and time.

One Hollywood stylist donated two large bags of clothing and stayed to help organize the space for shoppers.
“I know people who have lost everything, and even those I don’t know, my heart breaks for them,” said Lisa Cera, a stylist for celebrities like the Kardashians and Lenny Kravitz.

Stories of Resilience

Among those shopping was Ellen Bennett, who picked out essentials for her 72-year-old mother, a survivor of the Eaton fire. Her mother had escaped her home with just her dog and a small bag, thinking she’d return. Instead, the fire destroyed everything.
“In this time of tragedy, it’s so special and beautiful to see people rising up to help,” Ellen said.

Jenna Cooper shared another touching moment: she helped a man find sneakers so he could run on the beach again, something he hadn’t done since the fires.
“This is a city of love, and everybody wants to support each other,” Jenna said, overwhelmed by the outpouring of help.

More Than Just Clothes

To add comfort to the experience, a therapy dog named Jackie Robinson greeted shoppers at the store entrance. The entire event became a testament to the community’s strength and compassion.

In the face of unimaginable loss, Los Angeles has shown that even in tragedy, kindness and unity can shine brightly.
