Harris and Trump Blame Each Other for Dividing People as Campaign Nears End

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – With just one week left in the race, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are pointing fingers at each other for increasing division in the country. Both presidential candidates took shots at each other on Wednesday as they campaigned in key states.

In Green Bay, Trump wore a bright orange safety vest and climbed into a garbage truck, making a statement about a recent comment by President Joe Biden. Trump claimed that Biden had insulted Trump’s supporters by calling them “garbage.” Trump defended his followers, saying, “Trump supporters are not garbage!” Trump denied knowing a comedian from his New York rally who made offensive jokes about Puerto Rico, saying he loves the island and its people.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Vice President Harris told voters it’s time to “turn the page” on Trump, saying he is more focused on his own issues than on the needs of Americans. Harris promised that, if elected, she would get right to work on fixing things in the country.

The race between Trump and Harris is extremely close, with polls showing just a one-point difference between the two. Election workers in some states are on high alert, as authorities worry about the potential for violence around polling stations.

Trump continues to claim, without proof, that his 2020 loss was due to widespread fraud. He has already filed multiple lawsuits this year, challenging different voting rules.

Both candidates are making big efforts in North Carolina, a state that could play a huge role in deciding who wins. Last month’s hurricane has left many parts of the state in recovery, and Trump has faced criticism for falsely claiming that disaster relief was diverted to help immigrants.

In North Carolina, more than 43% of voters have already cast their ballots. But the final results may take a while, as absentee ballots can be counted up to 10 days after Election Day. The countdown to Election Day is on, and both sides are making their last moves to win over America.
