Gal Gadot, best known as Wonder Woman, recently revealed a life-changing health scare she experienced while pregnant with her fourth child. In an emotional Instagram post, Gadot shared that she developed a massive blood clot in her brain during the eighth month of her pregnancy last February.
Weeks of Pain and a Shocking Diagnosis
Gadot explained that she had been suffering from severe headaches for weeks, forcing her to stay in bed. Concerned about the unrelenting pain, she underwent an MRI, which led to the frightening discovery of the blood clot.
“In one moment, my family and I were faced with how fragile life can be,” Gadot wrote. “It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change. All I wanted was to hold on and live.”
Emergency Surgery and a Miracle Baby
Following the diagnosis, Gadot was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Despite the terrifying ordeal, she safely gave birth to her baby girl, Ori.
Gadot shared the special meaning behind Ori’s name, which translates to “my light.” She said, “Before the surgery, I told Jaron [her husband] that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”
A Team of Heroes
Gadot expressed deep gratitude to the medical team that treated her, calling them “extraordinary.” Their quick actions and care saved her life and ensured her full recovery.
“Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back,” she said.
Important Lessons About Health
Reflecting on her experience, Gadot emphasized the importance of listening to your body. She urged others to take pain, discomfort, or changes seriously, as they could signal deeper health issues.
She also raised awareness about cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), a rare condition where blood clots form in the brain. According to Gadot, CVT affects about 3 in 100,000 pregnant women over 30.
“While rare, it’s a possibility. Knowing it exists is the first step to addressing it,” she said. “If even one person feels compelled to take action for their health because of this story, it will have been worth sharing.”
Celebrating Miracles and Resilience
As Gadot reflected on her journey, she described childbirth as a miracle and a testament to the strength of women. She encouraged mothers to prioritize their own health as much as they care for their families.
“Giving birth is a miracle, a reminder of our strength and resilience,” she said. “But it also demands so much from us. We must care for ourselves fiercely.”
This holiday season, Gadot celebrated Hanukkah with gratitude, calling her daughter Ori a “personal miracle.” She hopes her story inspires others to find their light, advocate for their health, and cherish life’s small miracles.
Family of Six
Baby Ori joins Gadot’s loving family, which includes her husband, Israeli film producer Jaron Varsano, and their three older daughters: Alma, Maya, and Daniella.
Gadot’s journey is a powerful reminder of the strength it takes to overcome life’s challenges and the miracles that can emerge even in the darkest times.
