In a recent interview, John Kelly, who used to be Donald Trump chief of staff, said that Trump acts like a dictator and does not understand the US Constitution. With the election coming up on November 5, Kelly expressed concern that if Trump becomes president again, he might rule like an authoritarian leader.
Kelly, a retired Marine general, shared that Trump once said that Adolf Hitler “did some good things.” Since leaving the White House, Kelly and Trump have disagreed a lot and are not on good terms anymore.
Trump’s campaign responded, saying Kelly is making false claims. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats are worried about Trump’s statements, including one where he said he would act like a dictator on his first day back in office to make changes like closing the southern border and increasing oil drilling.
Harris’s campaign is highlighting that people who know Trump well are warning about the risks of him being president again. A retired general also expressed disappointment that Kelly didn’t endorse Harris after criticizing Trump, but Kelly emphasized he is not backing any candidate.
