Filipino Fans Fill NYC Venue for Side A Band’s Final U.S. Tour Show

NEW YORK CITY – Filipino fans packed the Palladium in Times Square to celebrate Side A band’s last U.S. concert on their “Now and Then” tour. This special event brought together Side A members from the 1980s all the way to their latest lineup, filling the venue with the sounds of their greatest hits.

Though fans were excited, many noticed that former lead singer Joey Generoso, known as Joey G, was missing. Joey G left Side A in 2015 and held his own concert with Noel Cabangon in California. At his show, Joey G surprised fans when he said he could no longer sing Side A’s popular songs, like “Forevermore,” due to a legal notice instructing him to stop. This news left fans in California disappointed.

Joey Benin, an original Side A member and writer of several songs, explained that Joey G’s restriction was a personal choice to protect the band’s legacy and was not imposed by the group.

Despite this, the New York crowd had a blast as Rodel Gonzalez, Side A’s first vocalist, took the stage alongside other talented members, including Naldy Gonzalez, Pido Lalimarmo, and Ernie Severino, delivering a powerful lineup of the band’s classic songs.

GMA Pinoy TV was the proud media partner for this unforgettable New York show, marking a heartwarming end to Side A’s U.S. tour.
