Ex-Pres. Duterte denies ‘secret meeting” amid destab rumors vs. Marcos gov’t.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte refuted rumors that he has been secretly meeting with certain police, soldiers, and politicians amid supposed destabilization plots against the Marcos administration.

Duterte, who met members of the Davao media in a press conference over the weekend, said he has no reason to do so as he is comfortable with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., based on a report of King Pandia of Super Radyo Davao.

The former president maintained he is content with what he achieved during his stint as chief executive, and of what he has done for the country, his family, and for himself.

The 78-year old Duterte also claimed that he is already done with politics at this point in his life.

In November 2023, it could be recalled that Duterte said he will be forced to run for either vice president or senator if his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, gets impeached.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday dismissed reports of destabilization plots against the Marcos administration circulating on social media and said that they had not monitored any such plot.

Both the Armed Forces of the Philippines and National Security Adviser Eduardo Año also denied earlier that there were destabilization plots against the current administration. —RF, GMA Integrated News
