The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to open new satellite offices in Metro Manila for its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
AICS is a financial assistance program open to all Filipinos, regardless of financial status, as long as they are facing a crisis situation.
The two additional offices will be located in Manila and Para?aque City and will be operational on Thursday, April 27, DSWD Assistant Secretary Uly Aguilar said in a press statement.
“This initiative is one way to decongest our existing AICS payout areas and to deliver services under AICS directly to our clients from different parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces,” said Aguilar. The new sites will cater to clients from the northern and southern parts of the capital region, according to the agency. The CAMANAVA Satellite Office in Manila will process the requests for assistance of clients from Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela City, while the Baclaran Satellite Office in Para?aque City will cater to residents from the cities of Pasay, Para?aque, Muntinlupa, and Las Pi?as. Further, the DSWD said it plans to have remote AICS processing areas in Pasig City and Bulacan next month, with the city office delivering assistance to eastern Metro Manila and the provincial satellite office assisting clients from the municipalities of Norzagaray, Sta. Maria, Angat, and San Jose del Monte City.
There are currently two AICS processing areas in Metro Manila: the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City and the DSWD Field Office-NCR. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
