The Department of Transportation on Monday showed for the first time the progress of the construction of the Metro Manila Subway project.
According to Joseph Morong’s report on “24 Oras,” 200 meters of the subway’s southbound lane have already been constructed from the Valenzuela depot since the tunnel boring machine started digging in January.
The P400-million subway project is expected to be completed in 2029.
The subway will run for 33 kilometers from Valenzuela to Bicutan and have 17 stations.
It is expected to benefit over 500,000 commuters.
The subway is seen to cut travel time from Valenzuela to NAIA from over an hour to over 14 minutes.–NB, GMA Integrated News
