DMW Confirms Final Group of Pinoy Crew from Houthis-Attacked Ship Safely Back in PH

MANILA — The final group of Filipino seafarers from the ship attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea is now safely back in the Philippines. Ten crew members from M/V Minoan Courage arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

These ten seafarers are the last of the 21 Filipino crew members who were on board the Greek ship when it was attacked on October 1, 2024. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed that the first two groups, with a total of 11 crew, had already returned on October 9 and October 13.

Thanks to the DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the manning agencies, and the shipowner, all Filipino crew members made it back safely. The seafarers will stay in hotels while awaiting scheduled health checks, including mental health support.
