The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have joined forces to improve digital government services for Filipinos living abroad. The two agencies signed a memorandum of agreement, marking a significant step towards providing faster, safer, and more efficient public services for overseas Filipinos.
According to an official statement released on Friday, the partnership focuses on enhancing system interoperability, streamlining service delivery, and promoting e-Government initiatives to ensure that Filipinos abroad can access vital programs and services without difficulty.
One of the key components of the agreement is the integration of CFO systems into DICT’s advanced digital platforms. This integration aims to make essential services available at the fingertips of Filipinos, no matter where they are in the world.
CFO Secretary Dante Francis Ang II expressed optimism about the partnership, saying, “This collaboration will pave the way for more effective and accessible services for our overseas Filipinos. No matter where they are in the world, they can access essential government programs and services with ease.”
As part of the agreement, CFO services will soon be incorporated into the eTravel app, which is widely used by Filipinos traveling abroad. Additionally, the partnership will provide a more secure platform within the eGov App, simplifying access to crucial government services.
DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy emphasized the broader impact of the collaboration. “What truly matters is how we carry this forward—how we translate today’s unity into tangible benefits for our people,” Uy stated. “Through this partnership, we move closer to a ‘Bayang Digital ang Bagong Pilipinas,’ where no one is left behind, and every Filipino has the tools to thrive, whether at home or abroad.”
This groundbreaking initiative reflects the shared commitment of the CFO and DICT to harness technology for the benefit of overseas Filipinos, ensuring that digital transformation becomes an inclusive reality for all.
